Model Assistant Tool - Using the Model Assistant Tool, you can quickly configure a model for code generation. Using the Model Assistant Tool (MAT), you can quickly configure a model for code generation, and identify aspects of your model that impede production deployment or limit code efficiency.Four main components of the MAT provide a powerful and centralized interface for configuring settings for Simulink blocks, Stateflow charts, models and subsystems. The MAT can be used at any point during your design cycle, as it is completely separate from the code generation process. This component lets you quickly configure your code generation settings based on specific goals. Once you have decided the overall optimization and tradeoffs for your application (e.g., what is more important: RAM or ROM?), the tool will select the model settings that will best suit your goalsThis component presents a centralized means for configuring your model for code generation. Options are logically grouped by category, and are applied across products. This component comprehensively analyzes your model to ensure that you best utilize Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder. Specific checks can be enabled or disabled at any point. This is particularly useful early in the design cycle. This component provides powerful search and modify capability. The tool significantly reduces the burden of block-by-block configuration. The search feature helps you quickly find attributes of blocks, lines, input ports, output ports, and annotations. The modify feature lets you perform rapid batch operations on the search results. Frequently performed tasks are packaged conveniently into a single button click. The component has several capabilities. The Frequent tasks page lets you quickly perform common actions. The Simulink object search page lets you specify a general Simulink object search and modify action. This search mechanism is useful when you know the specific names of underlying attributes. The Stateflow object search page lets you quickly configure the Stateflow data in your model. This is particularly useful for converting data from floating point to fixed-point types. The Search and replace Simulink text page lets you quickly modify text for objects in Simulink. For example, you can change all occurrences of "K1" to "k2". The semantics of the search and replace are the same as for the Stateflow search and replace tool that ships with Stateflow. There are two Parameter name search mechanisms. You can search and modify parameters using prompt strings. This search mechanism is useful when you know the parameter by its dialog prompt string, but you don't know the name of the underlying attribute. You can also perform a "fuzzy" search using property and/or value pairs. This search mechanism is useful for isolating the name of an underlying attribute. At the MATLAB prompt, type>> modelassistant('model') % invoke the tool for the root system of a model>> modelassistant('system') % invoke the tool for a particular systemYou can invoke the MAT for models and systems using the built-in Simulink bdroot, gcb, and gcs commands. For example,>> modelassistant(gcs)Invokes the tool for the currently select system. The MAT is designed to complement Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder, and works most effectively with ERT and ERT-based targets (such as MPC555), although it will operate with other targets. Select the target you wish to generate before using the tool. There are three demo model for the Model Assistant: advisordemo1, advisordemo2, and advisordemo3.You can install the MAT directly on top of Simulink versions 5.0 and 5.01. Assuming your MATLAB installation directory is C:MATLAB6p5:1. Extract the ZIP file ModelAssistant.zip on top of your R13 MATLAB installation. If you are using WinZip, for example, specify Extract to: as C:MATLAB6p5 and select Use folder names (usually on by default).2. Verify the installation by examining the MATLAB directory. Two new directories are created during the zip process:* C:MATLAB6p5 oolboxsimulinksimulinkModelAssistant* C:MATLAB6p5javapatch3. Restart MATLAB4. Open the MATLAB Preferences dialog from the File menu, and select General. If Enable toolbox path cache is selected, click on Update Toolbox Path Cache.5. To test the installation, type modelassistant('help') in the MATLAB Command Window. Requirements: · MATLAB Release: R13 · Real-Time Workshop · Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder
